- Our Client is a Mid-sized Int'l Freight Forwarder
Seeking:OCEAN EXPORT AGENT-Lake Success,NY Office
Ability to handle Ocean export functions from A-Z.
Booking, spot rate carrier negotiation, create OBL and other required documentation. Knowledge of Ocean consolidations and full container shipments. FCL/LCL.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Follow up on outbound freight with Carriers and overseas Agents
•Timely follow up of priority orders and pick ups
•Data Entry, Export document preparation
•File maintenance, including new set ups, PO tracking, input, comments and other such work as needed
•Client and agent billings
•Approve and input payables per file
•Provide administrative support to export sales team as requested
•Check and verify all export documentation to ensure compliance and client needs are met
•Review and answer emails along with communicating with overseas agents and clients
•Work with various Ocean Carriers/NVOCC/FF
•Create rate quotes and bookings as per customer requests.
Skills and Requirements:
•Minimum 2 to 5 years freight forwarding experience with knowledge of OCEAN Export
> Must have current Export ocean experience, Import Ocean only experience will NOT be considered.
•Good knowledge of international shipping procedures.
•Good knowledge of Port practices and procedures.
•Good math abilities and focus.
•PC skills proficiency.
•Good telephone manner and mature.
