- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler for an opening in Mojave, CA.
The Material Handler will have experience in materials movement as it relates to the Oracle ERP system, inventory controls and movement, at the dock, and on the shop floor. The Material Handler will pick and put away materials (including raw materials, work in process, consumables, and finished goods), as well as deliver them to the necessary locations on the shop floor to facilitate the manufacturing operations of the LauncherOne program.
This position will also need to be able to back-up the Shipping and Receiving Clerk functions within the Supply Chain organization. This will require knowledge and use of the ERP system in order to perform shipping and receiving transactions accurately and efficiently as well as preparing outbound transport, packing, labeling, bar code scanning, and documentation.
Ideal candidates will have a work history that demonstrates the ability to operate successfully in an environment that requires exceptional attention to detail. Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required. Experience with new product introductions, lean manufacturing, cost and quality optimization along with material flow on the production floor is highly desired.
-Perform accurate transactions for material movements, transactions, and receiving within the Oracle ERP system.
-Maintain accurate inventory, perform cycle counting, and physical inventory of stock.
-Certified to operate a forklift, plus the know how to use other mechanical equipment in a warehouse environment.
-Move materials and items from receiving to production areas in designated storage to inbound locations.
-Receive, transact, distribute, and store materials, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.
-Perform breakdown and kitting functions, as needed.
-Quickly and safely perform material movements, unloading and loading of vehicles according to procedures.
-Maintain records of all receipts in compliance with company requirements, verify all incoming documentation and applicable certifications are available and accurate to shipment.
-Adhere to all administrative and safety procedures, specific material handling and storage requirements.
-Actively care for and maintain capital equipment for the storage and movement of material.
-A minimum of two years prior experience as a Material Handler is a must to be successful in this role.
-Experienced with MS Office and ERP systems.
-Must be able to handle hazardous and special handling materials.
-Experienced in shipping and receiving procedures and work instructions.
-Work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.
-Able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min.
-Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
-Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
-Certification to operate forklift truck and ability to operate pallet jack.
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
-Certifications or similar within aerospace, aviation or automotive.
-Graduated from a technical college or other recognized apprenticeship.
-Minimum of 2 years' experience in aerospace, aviation, or automotive industries preferred.
-Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and its application to material flow and inventory management is beneficial.
-Creative problem solver, able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work in both R&D and production rate environments.
-High school diploma or GED required.
