Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Quality Engineer for an opening in Lexington, KY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is for a Quality Engineer (QE) supporting the machining, fabrication and assembly of mechanical parts on a production floor. Hardware includes machined parts, sheet metal parts, formed metal parts and mechanical assemblies. Performs a variety of activities to insure accuracy and completeness of technical fabrication documentation and test processes. Reviews and develops information for testing, fabrication, assembling and inspecting units, assemblies and systems based on review and knowledge of specifications, sketches, drawings, schematics and manufacturing process plans. Tracks and controls non-conformance documents and test anomalies. Reviews final build documentation for accuracy and assures control of build records and issuance of serial numbers.

REQUIREMENTS:
Quality Engineering- Required - 4 5 Years
Manufacturing support - Required - 0-3 Years

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Able to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods to turn materials into products
o Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques
o Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
o Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics
o Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex
o Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
o Demonstrated problem solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning
o Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing
o Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
o Experience in Mechanical Production floor level Quality Assurance inspection processes and procedures supporting mechanical fabrication, machining and assembly
o Knowledge of ISO 9001/ AS9100 requirements with interpretation and application experience
o Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
o ASQ CQE and / or CQIA
o Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast paced environment
o GDAT technical experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Accredited Technical Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
