We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Test Equipment Fabrication Technician in the Test Equipment Engineering group at our San Carlos, California location.

In this full-time hourly position you will develop, build and modify equipment used to test electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and systems; this will include determining the layout of circuitry and the design and fabrication of new test equipment, as well as repairing and updating existing units to enhance performance and usability.

You’ll determine the best methods of test equipment construction, review design drawings and schematics for discrepancies, and recommend changes in test equipment fabrication and design processes.

You will need at least five years of electronics experience, with a strong background in mechanical fabrication. Other attributes that will enable you to do this job effectively include:

• Knowledge of electronic parts and circuitry.
• Experience in prototyping and laying out circuit boards.
• Ability to work from schematics, engineering specifications, data sheets, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency in the proper use of hand tools and power tools (such as drills), as well as other necessary equipment such as multimeters.
• Good communication skills are necessary in order to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
• Familiarity with sheet metal and Plexiglas fabrication processes and prior experience building electronic test stations is preferred.
• A relevant associate’s degree is a plus.

Openings will be first and may require occasional travel to our facility in Torrance during the next 4-6 months until work being done there has been moved to our Torrance location.
