Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Test Developer for an opening in Hood River, OR.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews software documentation for technical accuracy/efficiency and completeness to include applicable specifications/designs, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Reviews software systems designs, specifications, and plans against contractual or process requirements. Evaluates functional requirements and identifies implementation risks. Develops and documents risk mitigation actions. Evaluates project quality goals/expectations and identifies quality standards for life-cycle, documentation, development, testing, and maintenance. Defines product quality measures and identifies testing resources. Plans test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Defines and maintains software testing, resources, infrastructure and program plans. Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Proposes corrective and preventative actions plans. Conducts software tests and diagnostics. Verifies software system requirements, traceability, and testability. Identifies, analyzes, and documents program function and output. Identifies non-conformances and issues corrective action. Verifies effectiveness of corrective action plans. Evaluates test execution against planned activities and retests as required. Analyzes test activities and results against test plans, project objectives and system activities. Monitors issue resolution efforts and tracks progress. Performs final reconciliation against products and prepares formal review documentation.
•Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
•Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
•Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
•Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
•Knowledge of software quality practices, programming languages, operating systems and computing technology applicable to laboratory and test systems.
•Knowledge of the concepts and processes of managing a software system throughout the entire life cycle.
•Ability to write clear, concise technical prose. Ability to apply technical knowledge and knowledge of fundamental writing skills.
•Knowledge of software practices (e.g., configuration control, change management, problem reporting, software design, peer review, testing, and T&E specific practices), programming languages, operating systems and computing technology applicable to laboratory and flight test systems, including real-time, non-real-time, network-centric, monitoring and control applications.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well individually or in a team.
•Experience testing embedded systems and application software.
•Experience with hands-on troubleshooting hardware and debugging software.
•Understanding of computing machinery (memory, secondary storage, I/O, FPGA, processor, data bus, etc.) as it relates to software.
•Ideal candidate has experience with safety critical systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERINCE:
5-8 years in an engineering classification with a Accredited Bachelor's degree or 3-6 years experience in an engineering classification with a Accredited Master's degree.

WORK HOURS: FULL TIME - 9/80 WORK WEEK
