Description: Chipton-Ross is seeking a MP&P Technical Analyst 2 located in Huntsville, AL

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs tests and assists in analysis of materials, processes and equipment. Participates in test development, assists in routine analysis of failed parts and processes, generates data to aid in the evaluation of the failure mechanism and documents findings. Assists in developing and revising documents and technical requirements. Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and producibility requirements are met. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by participating in the design, fabrication and testing of new concepts and technology. Works under general supervision.

The specific immediate work scope is as follows: BR&T Materials & Manufacturing Technology is looking for experienced chemistry lab analyst with experienced in chemical analysis and the operational check and maintenance of lab equipment The Responsibilities will include titrations, pH, Total Organic Constituents (TOC) and other analytical measurements as needed to support the quality checks of the Huntsville chemical mixtures of our surface treatment and plating line tanks; will include the calculation of chemicals to be added to the tanks for adjustments to ensure the tanks are held to the requirements; support of lab equipment and lab operations which includes calibration, lab material ordering, and general operational maintenance activities; potentially assist with techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts for the chemical processing solutions; supporting testing and qualification of materials, parts and processes to meet requirements; assist with and be a part of demonstration and transition of innovative coating technologies for Client and military aircraft, Space Programs, etc.; assist with conducting analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Implements corrective and preventive actions.

The selected applicant will work with a group of Chemical and Material Science Engineers in the lab, as well as interface with other Technical Analysts.

Candidates desired are those that have chemical titration, FTIR, TOC testing experience, have worked in the lab and all aspects of lab management (Work Traveler, Calibration of equipment, operation and standard operational maintenance of the daily use of the equipment, hazardous waste knowledge on the use of disposing according to EPA/Local Guidelines and as adapted by the Business/organization).

EDUCATION:
Accredited AA degree with analytical lab experience of 7 to 10 years, or BS degree with analytical lab experience of 4 to 7 years

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
7 AM - 4 PM

Travel Required - Travel is a possibility, but will be less than 10% of time.
