Description: Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Test Technician -2 located in Waucoma, IA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs component, application and system level testing in both simulated and hardware environments to verify software specifications. Undertakes exploratory testing. Performs testing during iterative software development, regression testing and flight safety testing. Responds to elevated questions and assists Software Engineering in the majority of test activities. Creates defects to record variances to specifications. Creates defect reports, monitors quality statistics and creates associated reports. Assists in the creation of software test reports. Develops testing guidelines and mentors other software test staff. Assists Software Quality Engineers in the development of test cases, test plans and content of test sessions. Consulted regarding appropriate coverage, depth and completeness of testing efforts.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
oKnowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
oWorks effectively and cooperatively with others; establishes and maintains good working relationships.
oAbility to write clear, concise technical prose. Ability to apply technical knowledge and knowledge of fundamental writing skills.
oKnowledge of software practices (e.g., configuration control, change management, problem reporting, software design, peer review, testing, and T&E specific practices), programming languages, operating systems and computing technology applicable to laboratory and flight test systems, including real-time, non-real-time, networkcentric, monitoring and control applications.
oAbility to lead a team to conduct a test, compilation of test sequence, monitor progress of the test, and record test activities while being able to accommodate any unforeseen events that occur during the test.
oKnowledge of test article configuration control procedure required to prepare for a given test. This requires the use of configuration control management process to track and maintain article configuration. Ability to configure the test article using test requirements gathered from test plans.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Associate degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience

Full-Time
