Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler for an opening in Long Beach, CA.

Client is seeking a new member for our team to serve as Material Handler. If you join us in this position, you will assist in executing movement activities for client launch program. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position at client factory in beautiful Long Beach, California.

-Quickly and safely perform loading and offloading of delivery vehicles in an orderly manner.
-Moves material items from receiving or production areas to storage or designated areas.
-Receive, store, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.
-Perform accurate transactions in ERP system.
-Adhere to all safety requirements DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
-Help client do its part to make the world a better place
-Constantly learn new things-and share them with your team members
-Performs other duties as assigned

-Certifications or similar within aerospace, aviation or automotive
-Graduated from a technical college or other recognized apprenticeship
-Must hold a valid California Commercial Class C Driver License
-Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment.
-Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, ability to operate company vehicle/s in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
-Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and its application to material flow and inventory management is beneficial.
-Experienced in shipping and receiving procedures and work instructions.
-Typical Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 - 50 pounds on raised surfaces. Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
-Typical Working Conditions: Duties are performed typically in a warehouse/truck/driving environment with some office duty assigned.

-Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed

-Experienced with MS Office and ERP systems.
-Previous experience with ERP and bar coding systems.
-Creative problem solver, able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-Must be willing to work odd hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work in both R&D and production rate environments.
-Certification to operate forklift truck and ability to operate pallet jack
-Passion for space exploration and a firm belief in the utility of affordable access to space
-Ability to thrive as a 'one person team'
