Description: Chipton Ross is seeking a Software Engineer in Acton, MA.

Job Description:
As part of New Product Development team, you will be implementing the touch-screen user interface for the next generation Allen Advance Table used for spine surgery. Working in a multidisciplinary team (Electrical, Mechanical and Software) you will design, implement and document software to run on a hybrid embedded platform consisting of both Cortex-M and Cortex-A processors.
Responsibilities:

o Develop software in native Qt to implement the LCD touch-screen user interface
o Develop software detailed design documentation for capturing implementation
o Create and execute unit tests as part of software validation efforts.
o Integrate applications using components developed in-house and 3rd party libraries.
o Implement software for embedded systems following defined requirements and coding conventions.
o Create and execute unit tests as part of software validation efforts.
o Participate in peer design and code reviews.

Requirements:
o Proven ability to develop UX applications using the Qt framework
o 3+ years experience with QML and Qt
o Familiarity with Qt 5.7
o 8+ years of related experience in a position focused on UI, UX, graphic design for embedded systems (or advanced degree plus 6 years)
o Demonstrated UI/UX design principles and best practices implementations.
o Goal-oriented, self-motivated and able to be productive with very little supervision.
o Able to be successful in a schedule-driven, fast paced, dynamic environment.
o Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
o Ability to lead and facilitate communication between geographically diverse team of developers.
o Strong documentation skills to generate compliant documents for FDA audits.
o C and/or C++ Language Skills.
o Multi-processor system-level testing and integration.
o Experience with iMX-6 ARM based SOM development or similar architectures
o Keil, IAR, Seeger or similar development environment.
o Schematic and datasheet usage in debugging prototypes.
o Knowledge of Atlassian JIRA based issue tracking.
o Git version control or similar. Education:
Specialized Knowledge:
o Working knowledge of all phases of the IEC 62304 Software Development Life Cycle process.
o Working knowledge of IEC 60601 family of standards. Medical device experience a strong plus, including familiarity with FDA Software Development Guidelines, or other safety critical device development experience

Education: o BS in Computer Science engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
