Sourcing and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
Compiling and analyzing statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
Compiling information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
Conferring with suppliers and analyzing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Reviewing proposals, negotiating prices, selecting or recommending suppliers, analyzing trends, following up on orders placed, verifying delivery, approving payment, and maintaining necessary records.
May prepare bid packages.
In order to be successful in this role, one must be able to build consensus and work collaboratively with various organizations.
Bachelor's Degree with some experience.
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
The ideal candidate will have a basic working knowledge of procurement industry practices and an understanding of the application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
They must also be able to multi-task and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
Experience with SAP software - purchasing and planning modules.
Excel power user preferred.
