Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a System Modeling Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in McLean, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Captures and maintains the overall system baseline models that are used for planning, developing, and documenting the as-built system.
o Serves as the Program authority for model-based engineering (MBE) strategy and implementation.
o Acts as advisor to management and customers on MBE practices.
o Ensures that the decisions on technical approaches are aligned with established MBE plans to achieve optimal technical, schedule, and financial performance.
o Supports the Solution, Release, and Agile Development Teams to ensure that plans are adequately captured and assessed to ensure dependencies and constraints are properly addressed in those plans.
o Supports the architects and engineers in the use of the models, particularly related to performance modeling and simulation.
o Serves as the focal point for definition and control of MBE requirements for anticipated and future projects.
o Champions MBE on the Program as a proven solution for schedule optimization, affordability, and more predictable technical performance.
o Provides technical consultation, training and support to those working with the models.
o Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
o The System Modeling Lead reports to the Release Train Manager; local travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 10 years' relevant experience.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience leading MBE implementation in large programs.
o Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
o Experience in leadership skills to plan, estimate, organize, integrate and lead MBE activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
o Experience with employment of CONOPS for the development of system architectures and requirements that are optimized to meet the customer's operational needs at lowest cost.
o Broad technical and MBE experience, across multiple platforms, and encompassing the entire product development lifecycle.
o In-depth technical expertise in MBE techniques; requirements management, interface control and verification; trade studies and analysis of alternatives; development of end to end solutions.
o Experience with system modeling languages, especially SysML and UML.
o Strong experience in performance modeling, including prediction, validation, and tuning, for large-scale, diverse software systems.
o Experience including network/communication hardware and protocols, COTS and open-source products, and other infrastructure components in an MBE approach.

Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience implementing MBE within an Agile, preferably SAFe, development methodology.
o Experience with a variety of System Modeling Tools, to include Rhapsody, Sparx, Cameo, and/or others capable of supporting large-scale development programs.
o Experience effectively implementing and utilizing system modeling frameworks such as DODAF, FEAF, and/or others.
o Experience using MBE for a Cloud-based system.
o Experience using MBE to model security and privacy aspects of a system.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
