Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple SCA Avionics Technician 3's for a contract opportunity in Lake Charles, LA.
Per Diem only offered to those candidates living outside a 50 mile radius of the work location. $110 for lodging only and $51 for meals, etc. only
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with 10 years of Aircraft Avionics Experience
Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours
Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions
Able to wear respirator or other safety gear
Able to use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink gun, etc.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installs and troubleshoots avionics systems wiring in aircraft in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Fabricates, installs and tests installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses. Reads wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
• Installs, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft avionics and electrical system components in accordance with testing, engineering, maintenance and installation directives.
• Determines the sequence for installing, removing, maintaining, repairing, or fabricating critical aircraft components, or electrical/electronic, mechanical, or instrumentation systems.
• Performs testing, rework, and repair in various fields of specialization.
• Applies shop theory and skills in accomplishing assigned tasks working from incomplete engineering, electronic data, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, technical orders, and written and verbal instructions.
• Works from blueprints, engineering orders, schematics, repair manuals, and other technical documents on aircraft electrical/electronic, mechanical, plumbing, and hydraulics, power plant, structures, or instrumentation systems.
• Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains various types of complex aircraft equipment, components, devices, or systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
Candidates must be open to work any shift at the Lake Charles location, i.e. days, afternoons or nights. Some weekend hours.
Work schedule based on a 6 day -10 hour schedule.

SCA Benefits:
HEALTH & WELFARE EO 13706: $4.93 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, or $197.20 per
week, or $854.53 per month*
*This rate is to be used only when compensating employees for performance on an SCA-
covered contract also covered by EO 13706, Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal
Contractors. A contractor may not receive credit toward its SCA obligations for any
paid sick leave provided pursuant to EO 13706.
1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours they work, up to 56 hours of paid
sick leave each year.
VACATION: 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service with a contractor or
successor; 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 15 years, and 5 weeks after 20 years.
Length of service includes the whole span of continuous service with the present
contractor or successor, wherever employed, and with the predecessor contractors in
the performance of similar work at the same Federal facility. (Reg. 29 CFR 4.173)
HOLIDAYS: A minimum of eleven paid holidays per year: New Year's Day, Martin
Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth
National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans'
Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. (A contractor may substitute for any of
the named holidays another day off with pay in accordance with a plan communicated
to the employees involved.) (See 29 CFR 4.174)Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
