Chipton-Ross is seeking a Director of Operations for a Direct-Hire opportunity in Brentwood, TN.

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Operations to oversee all operational activities within our client's geotechnical engineering company. The Director of Operations will be responsible for strategic planning, managing project resources, training, supervising engineers, implementing standardized engineering practices, and maintaining good public relations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the geotechnical engineering or construction industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and proficiency in managing resources.
Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles, practices, and software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of technical services and products.
Manage and optimize resources across projects.
Oversee the professional development, performance, and efficiency of the engineering team.
Align engineering activities with business objectives and strategic goals.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Review and approve project designs and deliverables.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff.
Stay up-to-date with the latest engineering technology and industry trends.
Prepare and present reports on the department's performance to senior management.
Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles, practices, and software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
Experience with budgeting and financial management.
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Relevant Bachelor's Degree required. Education must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time - First Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
