Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a contract opportunity in Batesville, IN.

There is opportunity for hybrid work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 2 years of engineering experience working on circuit board design

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of the sustaining engineering team, you will be responsible for design changes for medical device products such as hospital beds and equipment. The engineering design changes may be related to design improvements, new compliance requirements, or supply chain support.

o As an electrical engineer on the team, you will be responsible for performing design analysis and engineering releases for small to medium projects or participate in portions of larger complex projects. The projects will primarily involve electronic and electromechanical design and development but may also include labeling, documentation, or other more general product updates.
o Apply new technical tools and concepts as needed with support from other team members.
o Implement design changes for electronic and electro-mechanical components, power supplies, electrical sub-assemblies, and product assemblies using our product release process.
o Generate feasibility assessment, product risk documentation, DFMEA, engineering requirements, and cost estimates.
o Support multiple projects simultaneously.
o Work in a team environment with daily contact with other engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply management, and marketing personnel. Additionally, you may work with our sales team to support customer requests or work directly with customers.
o Share technical knowledge with others on the team and guide other engineers in areas of expertise
o Challenge project teams and established work processes and proactively find creative methods to reach desired performance levels
o Inform others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience in the medical device industry and FDA Regulations
o Design of circuit boards with embedded processors (ARM is preferred)
o Experience using root cause analysis tools (5-why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, and fault trees).
o Experience working with schematics (DxDesigner), layouts (Mentor Graphics Xpedition), design analysis (Mentor Graphics HyperLynx)
o Experience with digital design and basic software development for testing hardware designs.
o Experience with documenting designs and analysis including hardware requirements, hardware detailed design, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements.
o Experience designing communication interfaces between circuit boards including, CAN, USB, SPI, I2C, LVDS, and display boards.
o Experience interfacing both analog and digital sensors to embedded processors including air pressure, temperature, load cells, current measurement, and others.
o Experience designing DC to DC switching power supplies.
o Experience with designing for radiated emissions, ESD, cost, reliability, and DFM

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
