Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Principal Textile Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Batesville, IN.

JOB SUMMARY:
Utilizes knowledge of textiles, foam, and chemicals to provide technical contribution to surface and material performance. Supports requirements, analysis, detailed design and verification activities for an assigned product, project or solution. Provides guidance to other engineers on design best practices and technical issue resolution, engages in design reviews, and helps resolve problems of medium complexity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 5-10 years of experience. Specialization in textiles is a plus.
o Knowledge of coated fabric composition and manufacturing processes
o Knowledge of chemical compatibility related to polyurethane coated fabrics
o Experience designing soft goods including foam
o Experience designing RF welded and sewn assemblies
o Understanding of statistical techniques used to generate sampling requirements
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
o Ability to adapt to change.

o Uses existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.
o Challenges project teams and established work processes and proactively finds creative methods to reach desired performance levels.
o Informs others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.
o Ability to deliver according to project schedules and communicate status.
o Other duties may be assigned.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Textiles or Engineering or local equivalent of same. Education must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
First shift, full time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
