- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Materials and Process Lead for an opening in Reno, NV.
Materials and Process Lead with a strong knowledge of aerospace composites and metallic materials, who will lead development of the material and process team for Client.
Support building and lead the Materials and Processes team for the AS2 aircraft development.
Lead development of the material and process specifications through collaboration with OEM, suppliers and vendors to guide program in selecting appropriate materials by drawing from civil, military and/or industry standards.
Provide advice on the applications, properties and processing of advanced material systems to all stakeholders - including, but not limited to, stress, design, customer support, quality and procurement.
Perform trade studies, write proposals and support new business development plans.
12+ years of hands-on experience in advanced materials and processes qualifications, testing, manufacturing and certification of Part 25 aircraft.
3+ years of experience leading technical resources and team.
Strong knowledge of aerospace composites and metallic materials, advanced manufacturing processes, test methods and design allowable development.
Knowledge of aircraft flammability and structural bonding requirements for Part 25 certification.
In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated success in dealing and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in engineering support of aircraft production line activities is desirable.
Strategic thinker with very strong decision making and communication skills.
Highly self-motivated with a strong bias for action, and excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets.
Experience in a global environment working with customers and suppliers.
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or similarly related area. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
