Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator for an opening in Millersville, MD.

•Installing, configuring and maintaining physical Multilayer Switches, Edge Routers, and perimeter security with excellent cable management skills.
•Install, and configure physical or virtualized servers and maintain the services they provide.
•Support for a virtualized environment (VMware) and host devices, through the use of Hypervisor and the vSphere platform. Allocating shared storage and support for a virtualized local area network.
•Ensure that all network services remain available for end-users. Monitor network up-time and redundancy.
•Maintain a disaster recovery or contingency plan in the event of complete failure of Power, network or otherwise.
•Maintain and support incremental backups on Network Attached Storage devices.
•Coordinate changes with Client staff through the use of Planning, Analysis and Network modeling with proficiency in applications such as Visio.
•Meet compliance for internal and corporate IT Security policies, ensuring that all devices remain secure and in accordance with these policies.
•Maintain close communication with vendors and procurement in the design, purchase and implementation of new or replacement devices, systems or services that are within budgetary limits and time constraints.
•Mentor best practices, procedures and supply scripts if necessary for Desktop Support personnel as the first line of support.
•Be prepared to issue Downtime notices, and advise end-users of any future changes as it relates to IT at Client.
•Review hardware, software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
•At the discretion of Client, approves, coordinates and controls all projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems. Provides advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems. Evaluates systems to measure their success.
•Develops and maintains IT system policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of IT systems IAW Client policies, standards, directives, and direction.
•Develops and maintains the systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of information systems.
•Facilitates communication between EBS, CSC staff, CSC management, vendors, and other technology resources within Client.
•Manages the activities of EBS staff at CSC.
•Select, train, supervise, evaluate and dismiss, if necessary EBS staff at CSC at the discretion of Client leadership.
•Promote cordial relationships and foster and maintain a favorable business profile with current and prospective customers, vendors, co-workers and other professionals.
•Ensuring that we are meeting any and all DoD requirements when handling sensitive confidential material, and familiarity with NIST Risk Assessment Framework.
•Performs and directs special projects
•Performs other related duties as assigned

•Ability to understand and evaluate technical computer hardware/software applicable to corporation’s products and services.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, procedural manuals and system design methodologies.
•Ability to use proper English spelling, grammar and legible office and business writing skills.
•Ability to speak will; have good, general communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or Board of Directors.
•Well organized, ability to meet deadlines; self-starter; and multi-task oriented.
•Valid state driver’s license.
•CompTIA Security+ (Preferred but not required)

Associate’s technical degree or equivalent from an accredited school or college and five (5) years plus of related technical experience is desired, but recent graduates will be considered on course work and grades.

9/80, 1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
