Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Supervisor for an opening in Bellefonte, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Directs the manufacture of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) columns through a team of lab associates, to supply a global market in line with company goals and in accordance with the internal specifications and to meet required delivery dates
o Ensures throughput of product, ensuring customer satisfaction through shift goals. Continually improves the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines to contribute toward company goals of the Quality Policy, annual revenues and productivity targets.
o Drives production shift productivity, cost reduction and shift performance measures
o Manufactures HPLC columns to supply a global market in line with company goals
o Maintains, monitors and drives improvement from related Key Business Metrics
o Supervises and manages Lab and Associate Lab Technicians.
o Provides leadership for Production employees through effective communications, training, and development.
o Ensures compliance with company requirements and meets personnel goals for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on-time delivery.
o Conducts process improvement through knowledge of the latest manufacturing techniques and equipment available, coupled with a willingness to drive change.
o Encourages mutual respect and co-operation within departmental team and those of other departments.
o Shift Employee Relations
o Problem Resolution
o May perform or assist in instrument and equipment maintenance and qualification.
o Completes all assigned training
o May train other personnel
o Reads, understands, and follows methods, SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements, regulatory guidelines, and company policies.
o Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
o Ensures that health and safety procedures are adhered to and that considerations are given to improve safe working practices to take reasonable care for oneself and others who may be affected by one's acts or omissions.
o Continues to acquire and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure continuing personal growth to meet the needs of the job and the success of the business.
o Knows, fully understands the purpose of operational practices, health & safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and ISO9000/ISO13485/FDA 21CFR820 quality procedures and work accordingly.
o Other miscellaneous duties as assigned


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Leads the production staff of hourly associates.
o Usees ERP/Access to conduct day to day business transactions and longer range business planning functions.
o Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
o Past Supervisory Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
o Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally
o Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.
o Strong historical evidence of a Process driven and Data driven approach to problem solving
o Proficient in Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices and standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions

o Knowledge of Demand flow, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
o Management: The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

o The ability to learn and utilize Lean manufacturing and PPI Continuous Improvement tools
o The ability to meet deadlines and targets.The ability and willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills
o Must have basic understanding of Production Schedules
o Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.

EDUCATION:
o Bachelor's degree in Chemistry related discipline; or
o HS/GED/Associates with 4 years experience in a laboratory production or manufacturing environment

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
3rd Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
