Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer Network for an opportunity in Albuquerque, NM.
Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Secondarily, this role will play a key role in supporting our 7 x 24 Data Center Support and Services Delivery, including Mainframe, Server, and Desktop Support. Secondary duties may include:
New system solution design, installation, test, and promotion to production.
Maintain existing systems with vendor supported hardware/software/network products and maintenance contracts.
Responsibility for availability, performance and tuning of systems hosted at the Data Center, including a z/OS Enterprise System.
Monitor, maintain, analyze, and report system, network, and security performance and utilization.
Data Center operations and service desk delivery infrastructure and network support and services.
Hardware and software product analysis, selection, installation, test, maintenance, and upgrades.
Develop and/or execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, test exercise preparation and recovery site test execution, lessons learned and issues resolution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering is required.
Must have 5+ years’ experience in Local Area Network (LAN) analysis, design, customization, implementation, administration, maintenance, management, and support.
Must have 5+ years’ experience in LAN Security design, implementation, administration, maintenance, management, and support.
Wide Area Network (WAN) knowledge and LAN/WAN integration expertise.
Experience in Mainframe Hosting Support and Services technical solutions and support, software product upgrades and
maintenance, and system performance management and tuning.
Expertise in responding to Corporate and/or customer audit and audit findings requirements that could include enhancing
Experience in analysis, design, test, integration, and implementation for new technical solutions.
Data privacy and protection expertise.
Experience in new hosting system design, procurement, installation, testing, implementation, and transition to production.
Experience in Disaster Recovery Planning and Test Exercise Support.
Experience in a 7 x 24 on-call technical support and services delivery for Data Center customers.
5+ years Windows or desktop administration experience.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering is required.
School must be accredited.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
