Chipton-Ross is seeking a Welder / Sheet Metal Fabricator 4 for an opportunity in Redondo Beach, CA.
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
Perform fabrication and assembly tasks using blue prints, sketches, loft lines, templates, and verbal instructions.
High School Diploma/GED plus 15 years of sheet metal fab experience.
Candidate must be able to layout, cut, bend parts to specified bend radius, as indicated on blue prints or sketches.
Must be able to fabricate and conventionally machine aluminum and steel parts complete, to make flightworthy parts for air vehicles and satellite components.
Candidate must be able to layout, cut, bend parts to specified bend radius, as indicated on blue prints or sketches. Candidate will know set-backs and forming of materials.
Applicant must be able to operate power brake, shear, and Strippet punch machine. Also be able to operate conventional milling machine (Bridgeport / Tree Mill) and lathe knowledge or experience, with no or, minimal supervision.
Must be able to obtain certs in GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), for steel, crorrion steel, nickel, titanium and aluminum.
SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) for carbon steel, gas metal arc for aluminum.
MIG welding experience.
Top of the line welder for steel and Aluminum with certs.
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
