Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Engineer for an opening in New Brighton, MN.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance to the Quality Management System.
Primary quality liaison between Client Test Cells departments and suppliers during order execution.
Writing and completion of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) during order execution and prior to product shipment from the supplier factory to satisfy OTQ and OTD requirements.
Completion of the FAT includes verification of quality documentation as documented in the Quality Management System.
Ensure recording and storage of supplier manufacturing quality documentation, including the recording of supplier communications as required.
Contribute to process improvement with the goal of improving product quality and supplier OTQ and OTD.
Document lessons learned during each project and report the lessons to the Quality team.
Develop manufacturing best practices for suppliers based on experience, personal training and lessons learned.
Provide training to suppliers in best practices to continually improve product and process quality.
Improve design for manufacturability of Client Test Cells products through participation in internal design reviews to identify design and/or manufacturing improvements, including the solicitation of input from Suppliers.
Provide process training to suppliers to ensure they comply with Client Test Cells process and PO requirements.
Participate in the evaluation of suppliers.
Travel: 30+%, Domestic and International.
Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5 Years of exp. GD&T is important
Excellent interpersonal skills and management skills in matrix organizations and global suppliers.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience in common office tools (Microsoft – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
Detail oriented.
Demonstrate ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.
Knowledge and experience of engineering design and manufacturing processes:
Inspection, Quality Reviews, GD&T, Machining, Materials (primarily steel), Welding, Heat Treatment
Assembly (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
ISO 9001 based Quality Management Systems

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelors Degree in Appropriate Engineering and 5 years of related exp. OR 10+ years equivalent experience.

WORK HOURS:
M-F, 8-5
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
