Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an opening in Tewksbury, MA.

This position will work closely with Optical Engine Manufacturing team to ensure department specific metrics are being achieved. In addition, this engineer will work alongside Operators, Supervisors, PPI Manager and NPI teams. This individual will be a key contributor for driving root cause corrective actions for the Optical Manufacturing area.
• Evaluate current manufacturing processes to determine improvements for quality, capacity and repeatability. This will include data mining to ensure defect modes are completely understood.

• Provides communication link from the manufacturing floor to management, design engineering, supply chain, customer support, and marketing.

• Using DFSS methodologies, develop tooling and equipment that will standardize operations and improve product consistency.

• Design, execute and analyze DOE’s when needed for quality improvements, scrap reduction projects etc...

• Continually challenge current production methods to minimize scrap and improve quality.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working cross functionally to meet deadlines.

• Update documentation (Work Instructions) to reflect improvements

• Work with Supplier Quality Engineers to resolve part quality issues.

• Working with the Quality Engineer evaluate and provide feedback to Supply Chain for first articles.

• Work closely with R&D and manufacturing to develop repeatable processes when product is scaled up.

• Work closely with Operators to ensure correct process steps are being followed.

• Continuous Improvement Mentality is an absolute must.

• Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills – solid Technical Writing skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working cross functionally to meet deadlines.

• Ability to conduct & analyze DOE’s.

• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA and 6 Sigma Methodologies

• Experience with Minitab, Matlab and LabView is a plus.

• Green Belt or higher certification is a plus with a solid track record using lean methodologies.

• Optical align and attach with UV/thermal epoxies

• Hybrid packaging – die attach, soldering, wire bonding, hermetic sealing, leak testing

• Understanding of Raman grating and FTIR spectrometers, geometric optics

• Excellent Project Management Skills.

Accredited BS in Electrical / Optical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
