Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manager of Compliance for an opening in Norfolk, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for directing policies and practices to ensure the organization is in compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Oversees the development of all required process narratives and testing of supporting Internal Controls; Manages all DCAA and DCMA financial related audit requirements, inquiries and reporting. Primary interface to the corporate office on all SOX and financial compliance matters.
•Responsible for reviewing the organization's policies and procedures to comply with all required rules and regulations. (SOX, DCAA, DCMA, etc.)
•Leads external (i.e., DCAA) and internal (i.e., Corporate) audits
•Maintains and/or or evolves the organization’s Disclosure Statement to DCAA & DCMA
•Compiles and submits the annual Incurred Cost Submissions and coordinates negotiations for closure.
•Organizes and conducts internal operational audits throughout the year
• Oversee the Divisional SOX compliance program which includes ensuring efficient and effective testing and remediation of key controls over financial reporting.
•Supports the division’s contract closeout requirements and follows through with required functional engagement
•Performs special reviews and supports internal investigations as required.
•Assesses the adequacy of programs designed to safeguard organization assets.
•Reviews data to support the issuance of reports detailing the findings and providing recommendations for process enhancement.
•Collaborates with internal and external auditors on control-related matters.
•Protects assets by establishing compliance standards; anticipating emerging compliance trends; designing improvements to internal control structure
•Identifies exceptions to policies and procedures and recommends solutions
•Assists with other projects as requested by the VP and CFO or other management
•Have an awareness of business process changes impacting SOX and provide guidance where necessary.
•Lead, mentor and develop assigned staff members

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
•Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
•Must have experience with DELTEK Costpoint financial software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point). Experience with Impromptu and COGNOS preferred.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills for communicating with support personnel, all levels of management, and external government agencies.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
•At least five years or more performing in a similar discipline capacity.
•Ten or more years of progressive accounting experience.
•Prefer at least three years or more of leadership experience.
•Defense contracting experience required.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree a plus

WORK HOURS:
9/80, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
