Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Technician I for an opening in Madison, WI.

Operate required automated manufacturing equipment which could include; label makers, presses, drills, prep equipment. Also provide back-up support to Production Technician II’s Assemble fully documented and released subassemblies to meet quality and productivity standards. Perform inspection of raw materials and products to ensure acceptability. Process repairs on assemblies within a specified customer time frame.
Assist in troubleshooting and testing process/products.
Perform transactions on corporate computer inventory control system.
Other duties as assigned.

Decision Making Authority:
Approve quality and acceptability of products/subassemblies, which they have produced.
Purchase hand tools with supervisor approval.
Reject defective material to supplier, or scrap without supervisory approval if less than $100.00.
Recommend assemblies for scrap with supervisor approval if greater than $100.00.
Make recommendations to Manufacturing Engineering on process/product problems and improvements.
Authorize the shipment of Customer Orders if allowed by the training matrix.

Must be able to communicate information with others.
Basic problem solving skills.
Organizational skills.
Proficient with basic assembly equipment/processes used in department.
Follow written procedures (SOP's).
Requires assembly skills of electronic assemblies (i.e., hand soldering, inspection, documentation and part number interpretation, wire crimping, and basic hand tool usage).
Ability to work independently with some assistance.
Ability to take ownership for general processes/products.
Must have basic understanding of the Manufacturing Work Order and Inventory Control Systems.

Physical Activities: Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.

Level of Physical Requirements: Medium Work

Level of Visual Acuity: Inspection, Close Assembly

Environmental Conditions:
Activities occur inside, hazards, and atmospheric conditions, required to wear respirator at times when conditions warrant.

Interaction with Other Employees: (level of contact, purpose, and frequency)
This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Technicians I and II for problem solving assistance.

Accredited High School Diploma/GED

1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
