Chipton-Ross is seeking an Air Data Systems Senior Engineer for an opening in Reno, NV.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Air Data Systems Senior Engineer you will report to the Flight Control Systems IPT Lead and be responsible for all activities related to the air data systems for the Client AS2 supersonic business jet. In addition to a more traditional Air Data system the AS2 may require development of an optical air data sensing system to enable our Mach Cutoff System (MCS) control concepts.
Develop air data systems design, architecture and support product plan development, including qualification and certification plans
Provide subject matter expert level technical leadership, mentoring and guidance on both practical and theoretical aspects of air data systems
Define requirements for the air data systems to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements
Research new air data concepts and technologies that fit the Client technology roadmap
Provide validation and verification of air data systems requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of deep, hands-on experience in air data and avionics systems development, design and testing in a Military, Commercial, or business aircraft development program
8+ years of demonstrated experience specific to air data systems, air data technical principles and technologies, and managing system suppliers as the technical point of contact
In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements, including air data specific certification requirements (e.g. RVSM)
Experience and expertise in the development of commercial and/or high-end business jets strongly desired, including flight test experience
Recent experience in developing air data, avionics and other aircraft systems, such as Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), from concept through certification strongly desired
Optical air data systems experience desired
Demonstrated ability to understand & define requirements, generate architecture, and achieve compliance

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering area, with a Master’s degree in a technical and/or management specialty preferred

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
