Chipton-Ross is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for an opportunity in Raleigh NC.

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in RALEIGH, NC. This is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities. This position is part of the Northrop Grumman's ETS Contract with the United States Postal Service, bringing top of the line professional technologists to their teams.
The qualified applicant will become part of the team of database administrators and provide technical services to support the application development, database production support and various requirements for distributed technical support throughout the enterprise.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
o Overall maintenance, administration, monitoring, problem management, and production for Oracle databases.
o Daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks.
o Backup & Recovery.
o Apply patches and upgrade database versions.
o Install and Build database structures.
o Develop and maintain shell scripts.
o Query and performance tuning.
o Develop and maintain documentation.
o Program in PL/SQL.
o Performance tuning of databases.
o Reviews database design and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
o Maintains security and integrity controls.
o Develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Prefer: Local to the RDU / Research Triangle area (this position does not provide relocation assistance).

Bachelor Degree and minimum 7 years relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
Minimum of 7 years of Oracle production support DBA experience; specifically, RMAN, OEM, and RAC.
Familiarity with architecture, both logical and physical design.
MUST be flexible and willing to work overnights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Dataguard and ASM.
Oracle certification strongly preferred.

Bachelor Degree is required. Additional experience may be substituted for degree (Total of 11 years relevant experience).
School must be accredited.

5/40 workweek.
MUST be flexible and willing to work overnights and weekends.
