- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Materials & Processes Engineer for an opening in Reno, NV.
As the Materials & Processes Lead you will report to the Airframe IPT Leadership Team and be responsible for leading development of the material & processes for the AS2 supersonic business jet.
Support building and lead the Materials and Processes team for the AS2 aircraft development
Assist in development of the material and process specifications through collaboration with OEM, suppliers, and vendors to guide program in selecting appropriate materials by drawing from civil, military, and industry standards
Provide advice on the applications, properties, and processing of advanced material systems to all stakeholders - including, but not limited to, stress, design, customer support, quality, and procurement
Perform trade studies, write proposals, and support new business development plans
12+ years of hands-on experience in advanced materials and processes qualifications, testing, manufacturing and certification of Part 25 aircraft
3+ years of experience leading technical resources and team
Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, advanced manufacturing processes, test methods and design allowable development
Knowledge of composite certification and structural bonding requirements for Part 25 preferred
In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements
Demonstrated success in dealing and influencing internal and external stakeholders
Experience in engineering support of aircraft production line activities is desirable
Strong decision making and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets
Experience in a global environment working with customers and suppliers
Highly self-motivated with a strong bias for action
Effective at nurturing strong professional relationships
Committed to fostering a culture of empowerment & creativity
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or similarly related area. Master’s Degree strongly preferred
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
