- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Payroll Clerk for an opening in Mojave, CA.
Payroll Clerk who can immerse themselves in the process of calculating employee pay and deductions as well as maintaining and updating payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data correctly.
Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Must have strong computer skills – Excel, Outlook, Pivot Tales.
Preferably 1+ years of payroll experience is desired.
Associates Degree in business or finance preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task.
Flexibility to travel to our Mojave, CA location if required.
Good time management skills to manage fluctuating work volume.
Strong customer service focus;

Solid Data entry and analytical skills.
Able to meet aggressive deadlines
Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
Accredited Associates Degree in business or finance preferred
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
