Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer Staff for an opening at Peterson AFB, CO.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview: Support MMT software and database sustainment for the AEHF Mission Control Segment and other flight and ground system deliveries required for AEHF and Milstar operations. Work is performed at Peterson AFB/CISF and LM Citadel Terrace facility in Colorado Springs, CO.
Database Engineer, Staff; SG 4: Perform Advanced System Database (ASDB) updates, establish and maintain database baselines for all operational increments. Execute Help Pages and Job Aids for populating the ASDB. Troubleshoot database inconsistencies and workflow issues. Update existing workflows and create new workflows as required. Generate DRs as required to documents release processing, required database updates and report discrepancies. Provide release planning inputs including schedule durations and issue resolution analysis for long term planning to ensure that required fixes are delivered in time to support key operational fielding milestones. Routinely track release metrics and Lessons Learned.
Systems Engineer, Staff, SG 4: Perform Configuration Management baseline control of operational release products for all operational software increments. Execute Help Pages and Job Aids for building both mission and OS/COTS software releases and creating install packages for our various elements. Update DRs as required to documents CM release processing steps and to report discrepancies. Work closely with Release Owner, Development and Test teams to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner. Provide release planning inputs to ensure that required fixes are delivered in time to support key operational fielding milestones. Perform security procedures to ensure "Restricted " data is controlled. Generate, track and ship all operational media for software installs. Maintain media safe inventory. Create media with testing or ad hoc data for development and test teams. Generate and distribute Version Description Documents (VDD) for operational software and database deliveries. Ensure release build contents matches both the review boards listing and the VDD. Consolidate release testing issues for VDD inclusion. Generate Turnover Letters for products and miscellaneous scripts as required. Maintain procedures and ensure required periodic reviews are conducted. Maintain CM SharePoint site. Path find OSSE release processing DRs to verify solution and prevent regression. Routinely track release metrics and Lessons Learned.
Systems Integration & Test Engineer, Staff, SG 4:
Perform planning, test execution, data analysis and discrepancy reporting for operational based testing of ASMCS/EAA/TTS software and database products to ensure readiness for government testing and fielding.
Perform planning, test execution, data analysis and discrepancy reporting for Pre-Release Testing to ensure operationally acceptable solutions for DR and PDR fixes planned for final development releases
Analyze ASMCS/EAA/TTS software and database discrepancies
Uses Oracle SQL to analyze the database
Execute tools to process and analyze system data
Perform DR and PDR Verification of ASMCS/EAA/TTS delivered fixes to ensure operational requirements are met
Perform system regression tests to evaluate the operational capability of the system
Write discrepancies using ClearQuest; Track discrepancies for resolution
Participate in the DR and PDR assessment, prioritization and delivery scheduling process to ensure that required fixes are delivered in time to support key fielding milestones
Validate documented DR and PDR workarounds for issues not planned to be delivered
Ensure that documented workarounds are technically correct and satisfactory for operational users
Develop and submit a Software Version Description for each release (CDRL A096).
Provide SW and Database engineering analysis and support including supporting the planning of all releases (including emergency releases) and supporting specification updates in accordance with the TMCP.
Develop, incorporate, test, verify, and internally deliver approved changes into space and ground segment SW builds, SW patches, and Database tables to improve performance, prevent abnormal conditions, or correct and/or mitigate anomalies and deficiency reports.
Provide database updates to CCS-C contractor and/or 4SOPS to ensure consistency between ASMCS baseline and CCS-C (SGLS) baseline.
Provide two Strategic SATCOM Key/Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Transmission Security (TRANSEC) Word (UTW) releases per ground system per year.
Perform SW and Database Release QA.
Follow internally-established and maintained software maintenance processes and procedures.
Provide user briefs for operational products.
Coordinate/collaborate implementation of the MPSS Windows 10/Server 2016 upgrade.
Deliver approved changes as Software and Database operational release products to improve performance or correct and/or mitigate anomalies and deficiency reports.
Participate in operational release planning.
Perform configuration management of all releases.
Update release documentation as appropriate.
Generate and deliver Version Description Document (VDD). (CDRL A096 COMPUTER SOFTWARE PRODUCT END ITEM ? FLIGHT AND GROUND SOFTWARE RELEASES)

QA checklists
Software Test Plan
Software Test Description
Software Test Report including summary of all tests conducted, problems encountered, impact assessment of problems encountered and other information as needed for a complete understanding of the implementation.

Provide CM support for implementation of the MPSS Windows 10/Server 2016 upgrade
Provide integration and test engineering analysis and support, including:
Change request verification, validation and/or testing as applicable
Regression testing as applicable.
Coordinate pre-operational testing events and activities with operators and users to enable their effective observation and/or participation.
Support ground system to terminal testing.
Test service data and test Crypto Key Authorization Table (CKATs) for ASMCS.
Perform Orbit Update checkout prior to use in operations.
Support MCL in Technical Order checkout
Provide integration and test support for implementation of the MPSS Windows 10/Server 2016 upgrade

REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in Windows and Unix operating systems environments
Working Knowledge of Oracle
Working knowledge of SQL
Working Knowledge of PERL
Working Knowledge of Clearcase and Clearquest
Experience with satellite databases and associated build processes
Excellent commination skills
Excellent writing skills
