Chipton-Ross is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for an opening in Tupelo, MS.

Under close supervision, with detailed instructions, this position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing maintenance and repairs of the office and building facilities, facility structure equipment, machines and grounds.
Typically assist trade personnel in one or more of the maintenance trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, machine and equipment repair and HVAC.
Conducts routine and periodic inspections of the premises, as directed, to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment.
Assists in performing trade work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
May perform routine preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment according to established procedures.
May perform general building construction services for new construction/ renovation (i.e., framing, drywall, taping, texture, painting, flooring and base, doors, frames and hardware).
Performs a variety of basic facilities tasks as requested by managers and maintenance requests.
Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
Sets up and operates all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must demonstrate basic knowledge of construction or facilities maintenance principles and concepts.
• Must possess:
o the ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications;
o good organization skills and ability to establish priorities;
o the ability to identify issues, solve and respond to routine problems;
o good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, and report information as well as the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of personnel, including management;
o general knowledge of shop math;
o basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools and measuring instruments; and,
o the ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

Accredited High School Diploma/GED


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
