- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist for an opening in Madison, WI.
This position will join an operations team supporting cell-based screening services. The position will be responsible for screening small molecules provided by customers against a portfolio of cellular and biochemical assays. As a member of the cellular team this individual will also be expected to support gene expression analysis and assist in the execution of custom cell-based protocols.
Conduct cell-based and biochemical screening assays. Follow approved protocols to screen customer compounds and analyze data using analysis templates.
Support gene expression profiling through sample verification and basic protocol execution.
Identify any inconsistencies in results. Contribute to root cause analysis to determine the reasons for miss-alignment and create methods to reduce recurrence.
Move from project-to-project fluidly by exhibiting adaptability and quickly learning new protocols
Work in biosafety cabinets using aseptic technique
Support a culture of continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance and execute on process development.
Prepare lab reagents to be used in screening and manufacturing projects (i.e. uncommon media preps, controlled substances)
2+ years industry experience with a BS or 0+ years with MS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems
Experience working with adherent and suspension cell lines in an antibiotic free environment.
Familiarity with fluorescence-based assay technology
Experience with gene expression techniques
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
