Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Editor and Writer for an opportunity in Schriever Air Force Base, CO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Technical Editor and Writer will support the newly awarded, five year, Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Cyber Defense Engineering and Training II (CDET II) contract at Schriever AFB, Colorado in support of the 50th Space Wing.
Duties:
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.
Conducts quality review of materials. Assist in production and modification of technical data required for implementation of DCO solutions, system authorization documentation, and mission system baseline changes.
Responsible for uploading the mission system Operational Crew cyber training documentation to the Government approved NIPRNet/SIPRNet/JWICS (as applicable) repository and notify the assigned Government representative of the documentation submission.
May refer to established precedents and policies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors and a minimum of 6 years of experience, including 2 years of technical experience. May consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree (Total of 10 relevant years of experience with a high school degree).
IAT I Required: One required certification from the following: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP.
Full knowledge of industry practices.
Ability to independently demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks.
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Able to perform complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment.

EDUCATION:
High School degree/GED or Bachelor's degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
5/40 workweek.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
