Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Engineer for an opportunity in Redmond, WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for managing the product returns process
o Ensuring acceptable turn-around-time (TAT)
o Ensuring accurate and thorough RCCA
o Customer liaison regarding quality issues
• Also may be involved with, as needed, implementing, administering, coordinating and leading various Quality Assurance activities including
o Preparing procedures and instructions
o Review of drawing changes
o Preliminary and critical design reviews
o Reviews of new/modified test procedures
o Phased gate review preparation of new designs
o Internal process and product audits, customer audits
o Review of new work order routings
o Root cause corrective actions
o Quality reporting metrics measuring quality performance
o Contract quality requirements review
o Material Review Board
o Training
o Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and other improvement activities
• Responsible for managing the product returns process from all customers
o Ensuring acceptable turn-around-time (TAT)
o Ensuring accurate and thorough RCCA
o Customer liaison regarding quality issues
• Responsible for Material Review Board for customer returns to ensure effective root cause and corrective action analysis for nonconformances identified by customers and internally
• Assist manufacturing and engineering with effective corrective action identification and implementation
• Provide periodic reports to a variety of customers as required
• Provide timely written responses to customers for root cause and corrective actions
• Provide written responses to customers for audit findings
• Participate with Improvement Teams to identify areas for continuous improvement opportunities
• Develop, write, edit and publish quality system policies and procedures in compliance with customer system requirements
• Ensure that corrective actions implemented are verified and effective
• Provide weekly reports to Senior Management regarding the customer returns system
• Provide training regarding quality programs
• Facilitate or assist with customer audits of the company
• Review a variety of engineering documentation for compliance to contractual requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Management for a manufacturing company

Aerospace industry experience preferred

• Six Sigma/Greenbelt or higher certification preferred.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization and across multiple cultures.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Word, , Powerpoint, etc.

• Must be self-motivated and able to independently determine best course of action for a variety of situations

• Must be able to prioritize tasks and determine need for management assistance as required (escalation)


EDUCATION:
Accredited Four (4) year engineering degree/CQE certification or equivalent experience required

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
May require occasional travel to customer sites (10%)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
