Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Drafter 1 for an opportunity in Melbourne, FL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lab Infrastructure group in Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector, is seeking a creative early-career Drafter, to create detailed electrical, cable, and assembly drawings. The successful candidate will be a team player able to work with support personnel during the design and verification process, and will take great pride in their final product using your mind and computer to create!
Draws/revises detailed Harness Assembly drawings and installation engineering drawings from basic inputs from the integration team.
Draws/revises detailed rack-mounted electronics assembly drawings and installation engineering drawings from basic inputs from the integration team.
Create drawings of simple assemblies such as panels and chassis from general instructions and sketches from the engineering team.
Make changes on electrical and mechanical drawings according to a change notice or general instructions.
Obtain information for drawings from drawing systems manual, standard books, engineering reference handbooks, material, and process specifications supplier catalogs, etc.
Interpret simple drawings including customer and vendor drawings to obtain information relative to assignment.
Candidate will work in the Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems building in Palm Bay, Florida, supporting various programs. Candidate may be required to travel to the Melbourne Airport Campus to support various meetings during regular business hours. Candidate will be working out of the Melbourne office and that they will have to make occasional drives to attend meeting using their own vehicle.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
Enrolled in a CAD/Drafting/Design/Computer Aided program or equivalent AutoCAD experience is required.
Must be familiar with Windows and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Must be a team player able to work closely with support personnel during the design and verification process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced training with electrical schematics.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
Enrolled in a CAD/Drafting/Design/Computer Aided program or equivalent AutoCAD experience is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
