Chipton-Ross is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 4 for an opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required. Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs. Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies. Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details. Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Assembly tooling fabrication background, candidate must be experienced with the rework, fabrication, refurbishment and maintenance all types of Assembly Tools and Jig & Fixtures within an Assembly Tooling production environment.
Minimum of High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of experience in the fabrication & rework of Jig & Fixtures.
Candidate must be experienced with interpreting 2D draw sheets and 3D models and be familiar with aircraft coordinate systems.
Ability to use basic hand tools such as drills, die grinders hammers, and screw drivers etc.
Candidate to have the skill set to drill, tap, and ream & make items removable.
Experienced with shop math.
Experienced with basic shop machinery such as band saws, drill presses, and grinders.
Ability to work off of high ladders and portable platforms, lifting up to 25lbs, standing for long periods of time, and bending and stooping.
Experience using Computer-Aided Measurement Systems (C.A.M.S.) with an emphasis on (LEICA) Laser Tracking Systems.
Experience in data collection & reporting for the Validation/Verification of Tooling and Engineering. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.).
Experience with conventional optics.
Familiar with epoxy systems.
Experience with multiple computer aided metrology systems such as laser trackers, articulated arms.
Experienced in computer aided graphic interfaces such as Verisurf X, and Maya matrix BuildIT is preferred.
Experience analyzing collected data to computer models using CATIA V5 R26 is preferred.
Ability to operate a crane and forklift experience.
Ability to use manual Mills and or Lathes to machine angles and or details.
Minimum of High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
4/10 or 9/80 workweek.
Ability to work multiple shifts: 1st shift "5am-3:30pm" or 2nd shift "4:12pm-2:42 am" and any work schedule (times may vary).
