Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scrum Master in El Segundo CA (remote).
Scrum Master for two Application Development teams in the Scrum Framework, leading all Scrum Events, acting as a coach, and providing all standard measurement, analysis, and record-keeping, working with the team members and the team Product Owner on a daily basis. This role is likely 100% remote due to COVID-19 guidelines. All team members are Aerospace employees and mostly located at the El Segundo, California location.
" Guide the team and the organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
" Guide the team on how to get the most of our self-organization.
" Guide the team on solutions to fill-in intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
" Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and coach to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
" Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
" Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
" Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
" Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
" Support and educate the Product Owner, especially on refinement and maintenance of the product backlog.
" Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
" Participate in Communities of Practice (Guilds).
" Participate in work planning, commitment, measurement, and completion for assigned team(s), measurably improving performance and quality.
" Track and remove impediments, working with the team, customers, and partners to reduce wait time.
" Host Agile Events and achieve each one's objective.
" With a coaching and servant-leader mindset, work with the team and its members to move towards the best possible outcomes.
" Demonstrate behavior that is consistent with the organization's values of Dedication to Mission Success, Technical Excellence, Commitment to Our People, Objectivity and Integrity, and Innovation.
" Experience in the role of Scrum Master (or equivalent role, e.g., Kanban Coach) for at least one year with one or more software development team(s) that had applied Agile frameworks, principles, and values or at least three years in a program or project manager role for a similar organization.
" Hold at least one certification in Agile, preferably Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance, in active standing.
" Experience in leadership through influence (e.g., without formal authority).
" Experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (i.e., Burndown techniques, Retrospective games and formats, handling defects, etc.).
" Membership (paid or unpaid) in at least one Agile service organization (Scrum Alliance, Agile Alliance, Scaled Agile, etc.)
" Participation (paid or unpaid) in the national or local Agile community (meetups, conferences, networking, etc.)
" A four-year B.S. or B.A. degree awarded from an accredited university.
" Excellent oral and written communication skills.
" Excellent conflict resolution skills.
" Must be a U.S. Citizen and submit for industry-standard background checks.
" Experience with computer-based Agile work-management tools, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence, or equivalent.
" Experience or knowledge in the domains of work practiced by the Scrum Teams (e.g., information technology, software development).
" Certifications and other experience in project management.
" Knowledge of other Agile approaches: SAFe, LeSS, Kanban, Crystal, XP, etc.
" Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
" Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team to which this role may be specifically assigned.
" Excellent coaching / mentoring skills, grounded in best practices.
" Experience being an individual contributor to a Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE), Project Management Office (PMO), or similar organizational system.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
