- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Patternmaker 2 for an opportunity in Newport News, VA.
Designs and fabricates tools and parts in wood, metal, and plastic through machining and heat-treating operations. Works from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions using math and basic computer skills. Maintains model shop machinery. May enter data from blueprints or databases into CAD/CAM system, generate numerical control program, and transmits program to machining center. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. This job requires an Apprentice graduate, or equivalent, in education and/or experience in the Patternmaker's trade. Requires good mechanical and mathematical aptitude and sound analytical skills and 2 years of applicable experience.
Candidates submitted must have the following prior experience:
• WOODWORKING EXPERIENCE
• ABLE TO READ DRAWINGS
• ABLE TO WORK IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT
• KNOWLEDGE OF GIBBSCAM WOULD BE A PLUS
Position is needed to assist with PATTERN MAKING PROCESS (REFURBISH PATTERNS, FIX BROKEN PATTERNS AND BUILD NEW PATTERNS)
Required PPE: Ear Muffs, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots
High school diploma or GED.
School must be accredited.
