Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for an opening in Orlando, FL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Software Engineer to develop and maintain real-time embedded software applications. Typical applications are software products related to image processing, target detection and tracking, missile guidance/ navigation/ control algorithms, missile launchers, system control, built-in test, and system communication. Development will be in C and C++ hosted on either a PC or Unix environment and targeted for an embedded processor running either VxWorks or Integrity as the real-time operating system. Familiarity with standard communication busses and protocols including RS-232, RS-422, MIL-STD-1553 and Ethernet is helpful but not required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
The candidate will have experience throughout the entire software development life cycle including architecture, design, code implementation, and integration and test. The candidate will be experienced in technical task leadership and/or be a subject matter expert in an area relevant to Client products described in the above paragraph. The candidate will have a strong background in real-time embedded software development along with demonstrated technical leadership. The candidate will be familiar with using source code control and issue tracking tools along with using modern test tools to do unit test and static analysis. An ideal candidate will be able to configure and manage a continuous test environment.

For this assignment, The candidate must have at least 10 years of applications design and development experience using C++ and middleware (such as Data Distribution Services). Candidate must possess the ability to analyze the efficiency of software architectures and refine their designs to meet performance goals. Candidate must have significant experience in presenting and describing software designs in reviews (both internally and to customers).

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
It is desired that the candidate has experience with, or knowledge of, one or more skills below: Strong communication ability and experience in conducting reviews, particularly with external customers Ability to suggest alternatives to architecture design Familiarity with design patterns in C++ Familiarity with Safety critical Software process, design, and development experience Gitlab Team Foundation Server (TFS)

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a strong background in Software Development.

WORK HOURS:
4/10, 1st Shift
Full-Time
