Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineering Technician for an opening in Carlsbad, CA.

SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician I will support the equipment services department by responding to line-stopping issues on the production floor. Primarily responsibilities include, but not limited to repairing, troubleshooting, and improving existing manufacturing custom automation equipment. Sustaining engineering responsibilities include, but not limited to prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and research. The Engineering Technician I will support company production efforts as needed for testing, trouble shooting, and equipment maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manual, semi-automated, or automated assembly and fabrication of medical and/or electrical devices, requiring accurate placement of components and adhesive tapes. Other tasks include prototype fabrication using 3D printers, laser cutters, and standard machine shop equipment. Testing activities including fluidic, electrical, and other product performance related testing.

REQUIREMENTS:
PLC troubleshooting Experience. Familiarity with common electrical components (resistors, capacitors, sensors, etc). Competent with standard machine shop tools, including drills, mills, tapping. Fabrication of mechanical & electrical prototypes/components. Experience with or working knowledge of pneumatic automation and associated components. Able to self-direct and stay on track with multiple concurrent assignments/projects. Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi meters, personal computers. Ability to understand and follow electrical/mechanical schematics. Ability to trouble shoot simple analog & digital circuits, or willingness to learn. Versed in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and able to investigate, document, log, track, and report equipment trouble shooting and repairs. Demonstrate an understanding of basic electrical principles- Ohm’s law, AC/DC circuits, series/parallel circuits, safe handling of power circuits. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Manual dexterity with hands and fingers.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Associate degree in electronics or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
Accredited High School Diploma/GED required.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
