Chipton Ross is seeking a Business Development Engineer in King of Prussia, PA.

The Business Development Engineer, participates in identifying, developing and commercializing new business opportunities within market(s) of focus for the Functional Additives business in North America.

Manages a small portfolio of ongoing business opportunities, explores and identifies new market and application opportunities in assigned market(s).

Business development activity (North America) 80%
o Develop and apply an understanding of the market needs, and the value proposition and, under the general direction of the Business Manager, participate in the execution of a market development plan in selected market(s) or segment(s) of focus.
o Explore, identify and develop new market/application opportunities; begin to build developments pipeline.
o Identify unmet customer needs and offer suggestions for development of new products; bring BU growth opportunities to Manager; determine the potential size and timing of new opportunities.
o Communicate and engage with existing and new customers. Conduct frequent customer meetings and phone interviews. Develop relationships with customers, build a climate of trust.
o Assists in customer/market development projects through full commercialization.
o Participate in value chain analysis, market research and competitive environment assessment.
o Develop understanding Intellectual Property (IP) landscape. Under direction of Business Manager, ensure strategic IP differentiation; propose IP filing as appropriate.
o Define, execute or request the right level of technical service required to support the business development activity.
o Interact closely with the R&D and TS&D groups by providing market insight on applications, product properties and requirements.

Marketing / communication activities 10%
o In conjunction with Team/Market Manager, participate in trade shows.
o Participate in preparation of customer presentations; may present as appropriate.
o May write articles, give papers, and attend conferences.
o Curate Import/Export data and present at standard business meetings
o Support upgrades to the global website

Reporting / internal communication and processes 10%
o Use client CRM system to support and report activity (Call reports, samples/tech service requests etc.)
o Write monthly activity reports.
o Prepare activity summary presentations for peers and upper management (Project portfolio reviews, sales meetings etc.); may present as appropriate.
o Network with peers across R&D, Sales and BD groups.
o Actively participate in multi-functional team meetings.

- Travel will be 20% of the time.
- Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
- Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.).
- Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.

Experience in Organic Peroxides and/or the unsaturated polyester, elastomer or polyolefin compounding industry a plus.

- Ability to work in multi-functional team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to prepare and present information in a clear, concise manner.
- Detail oriented, with ability to prioritize work.
- Efficient with computer and communication tools (CRMs, usual software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to operate effectively within a global, culturally diverse community of professionals.

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering required.

First shift, full time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
