Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Technician I for an opening in Madison, WI.

All the duties and responsibilities of a Production Technician. Understanding of all processes within department. Assemble specialized electromechanical subassemblies to meet quality and productivity standards. Perform inspections of raw materials and products to ensure acceptability. Identify problems and work with appropriate staff to resolve issues. Provide training, guidance and support to Production Technician I and IIs. Regularly assist in the building of new prototypes and in the design review of new product introductions. Investigate cycle count inconsistencies. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Decision Making Authority
Approve quality and acceptability of products/sub-assemblies, which have been produced. Reject defective material. Make direct recommendations to Manufacturing Engineering on process/product problems and improvements.

Production assembly methods and skills that include soldering, gluing, and use of manufacturing details

Physical Activities: Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, repetitive motions, crawling and reading. Must have a valid Green Card or be a US Citizen.

Level of Physical Requirements:
Medium Work. May require exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Level of Visual Acuity:
Inspection and close assembly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:
Consistently have met or exceeded all performance factors set for a Production Technician. Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written) skills. Strong organizational skills. Proven attention to detail and follow up skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with and understand all forms of technical documentation used within their area. Ability to take ownership for specific processes/products. Ability to identify the difference between quality and unacceptable product. Excellent understanding of the Manufacturing Work Order and Inventory Control systems. Cross-trained to perform work in multiple areas. Demonstrate client values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.

Accredited High School Diploma/GED


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
