Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 for an opportunity in Newport News, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience
Associate’s Degree and 3 years of experience. 2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate’s degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate’s degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Associate’s degree.

Special Requirements:
Seeking experienced naval ship systems operators (HM&E, Combat Sys, Deck Machinery, Propulsion Plant) to apply their operational knowledge with developing test procedures and executing testing of ship systems automation software.
As a member of the NNS Software Center of Excellence Software Team the candidate will be involved in software testing activities. Activities include software test strategies, test plans, test cases and test procedures using software Description of Operations and Software Design Documents; Review existing verification test plans and procedures and recommend changes/enhancements; Execution of software development and test programs for embedded and industrial control systems. May include simulator and test tool development; end user interfacing, training, and operating manual development.
The candidate will demonstrate technical leadership, be self-motivated, possess the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple task assignments with limited oversight; ability to properly assess situations, identifying issues and concerns, determining solutions, and proactively communicating with project/test leads and department managers to facilitate risk mitigation; interface with in-house technical and engineering staff, and equipment vendors for issues concerning technical information and specifications.

EDUCATION:

HOURS:
5/40. This position is first shift, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
This position could POTENTIALLY have the opportunity for full time remote work.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
