Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist I for an opening in Eugene, OR.

Apply your organic chemistry synthesis skills, scientific knowledge, and analytical expertise to manufacture organic compounds utilizing a broad range of laboratory and analytical techniques.

Perform multi-step organic synthesis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Understand the written production documents and be technically capable of performing the processes and procedures.
Utilize technical knowledge and skills to analyze and interpret scientific data.
Conduct analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with the quality requirements.
Keep a clear, complete, and accurate account of all manufacturing work using Master Batch Records, notebooks, work order documents, and other required documentation.
Critically evaluate, revise, and create process documents that will ensure safe, efficient and reproducible manufacturing processes and documents are developed for existing products.
Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, WIP, and finished product by completing error-free transactions in enterprise business systems.
Work with the highest attention to personal safety and follow department all department policies and guidelines related to operation of process equipment and chemical handling.
Other duties within Operations, as assigned.

Laboratory techniques: inert atmosphere, distillation, filtration, closed/anhydrous liquid transfer, extraction, crystallization, solid phase/liquid chromatography, rotary evaporator, vacuum pump and small/medium scale glassware (100 mg – 500 g scale).
Large scale processes require the ability to set up and handle large glassware and equipment efficiently and safely. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Analytical techniques: TLC, pH, UV-Vis, HPLC, NMR
Possess an understanding of modern synthetic organic methods and reaction mechanisms.
Solid technical writing skills, with an ability to accurately and succinctly document synthetic procedures.
Effective interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment in order to effectively communicate about shared resources, technical issues, operational processes, due dates and priorities.
Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to evaluate, prioritize and execute multiple projects while responding to changing priorities and due dates.
Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry

Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a minimum of two years advanced organic synthesis experience in a laboratory/manufacturing setting.

1st Shift, M-F, 5am - 1:30pm (hours may change and overtime/Saturday work may be required.)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
