- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst for an opening in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Provides solutions to problems involving unusual complexity
Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new approaches and methods to attain objectives Provides input to department objectives and long-range goals Keeps current within area of specialty in support of project assignments Develops and prepares detailed financial, cost, budget, and accounting statistical reports, statements, and schedules; prepares analytical summaries and reports for management review Responsible for the interpretation and calculation of complex formulas requiring discretion and independent judgment in the administration of various pension plans Responsible for valuation of pension data, financial analysis and studies Reviews, analyzes, and gives guidance to maintain effective controls of the Company's accounts for all functions including inventory, budget, expense, tax, property, insurance as well as direct and indirect charges on work in process, overhead, receivables, payables and special funds May review data versus prior plans and prepare explanations of variances for management Summarizes data in the preparation of summary financial analyses May assist the Company's management team in audits, negotiations and the handling of special inquiries from government/clients regarding pertinent accounting procedures and techniques as well as financial projections May assign work and provide direction to less senior employees and support personnel Represents the Company as the prime contact on assigned projects Interacts with senior internal and external contacts on significant matters often requiring coordinative activity across organizational lines
Prepares and maintains tax records, returns, reports and other related materials Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy Devises legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden
Evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various forms and formats Apply general accounting principles/standards and auditing standards and procedures Perform mathematical calculations Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including preparing comprehensive, clear and concise accounting and auditing reports and financial statements Analyze data and draw sound conclusions Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action Make sound decisions and recommendations in regard to the Company's budget, accounting and business management activities Establish and maintain effective working relationships Use a variety of computer systems to prepare reports and documents Operate in a team environment
Two years transactional accounting or auditing experience; Proficiency on personal computer spreadsheets; Understanding of the Company's automated accounting systems, directives, and procedures; Ability to utilize graphics software in reports and presentations
Accredited Bachelors Degree
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
