Chipton Ross is seeking a Systems Architect 4 in Newport News, VA.

Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines
systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software
compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration
of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and
recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and
software developers.
Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to
communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and
Discretion / Latitude
Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining
technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term
perspective, for desired results.
Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major
organizational objectives.
Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with
senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between

Bachelor of Science Degree and 9 years relevant experience. Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience. PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.
Special Requirements:
o Performs the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of a solution architecture
o Develops the solutions viewpoint, in which the business, information and technology viewpoints are synthesized into solutions that deliver capabilities to the enterprise
o Assists in defining the principles to guide solution decisions for the enterprise
o Helps define the principles to guide solution decisions for the enterprise

This position is first shift, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am- 4:00 pm.
Driving to NNS facility locations around Newport News will be required. PPE will be required- hard hat, eye protection, ear protection, steel toes.

Bachelor's or Master's or PhD from accredited school.

7:30AM to 4PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
