Chipton-Ross is seeking an Assembler I in Hillsboro, OR.

Position Overview
A Manufacturing Assembler I is someone who thrives on challenge and continually looks for opportunities to learn. This role is responsible for ensuring that production assembly is actively engaged, meeting customer demands and the production schedule. The Manufacturing Assembler I also provides effective training to other assembly personnel and ensures safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. The Manufacturing Assembler I requires the use of a variety of hand tools, fixtures, mechanical work instructions and test equipment.

The Manufacturing Assembler I performs many of the following tasks:

Following audit and safety guidelines
Participation in resolving production challenges
Assist in set up or selection of specialized equipment
Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify problems
Perform machine set-up, calibration and preventative maintenance
Conduct assembly work using prescribed methods/work instructions
Collect test date and enter to database and make process decisions
Education / Experience:

Background in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement
Experience with low volume, highly complex manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability in successfully working on a Team of 8-10 employees
2 years of manufacturing experience with at least some assembly specific experience
Required Skills:

Ability to flex multiple leadership styles
Excellent verbal and written communication
Possess problem solving and troubleshooting techniques
Experience with supporting projects and collaborative teams
Self-motivated, decision maker with strong organizational skills
Comfortable training, leading projects and motivating Team members
Analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
Strong inter-personnel skills with employees of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds
Ability to lift 35lbs as well as frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands at arms-length, stoop, kneel and crouch.

Shift: M-F
Hours: 6am-2:30pm w/ occassional OT on weekends

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
