Chipton-Ross is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Manager for an opening in Santa Monica, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
" The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager will lead a team of advanced analysts and engineers in the identification, pursuit, and eradication of threats to our network.
" We are looking for a motivated network defender and thought leader able to articulate and blaze the cyber security trail, furthering a mature program to detect and prevent network intrusions and system compromises at a globally respected research organization
" The client SOC Manager will be primarily concerned with establishing priorities and frameworks for the team to hone their threat detection skills, forensics abilities and recovery responsiveness.
" We have no shortage of great software and hardware tools at your disposal. We just need you, the leader, to help guide the monitoring, digging, and analyzing strategies of the team.
" As a leader in securing client network from advanced adversaries, you will also work with a leading cadre of cyber security policy researchers to inform client's policy agenda
" Participate in Incident Response activities
" Develop audience-aware crafted summaries of security events, the state of client's security posture and other notable points of interest
" Assist in the development of periodic or ad-hoc security reports to provide relevant situational awareness for senior stakeholders
" Provide additional support to the client Information Security team as necessary

Knowledge and Skills:
" The ideal candidate will have past experience performing network security and traffic analysis, hunting for malicious network activity and initiating response actions, using a SIEM, be familiar with different types of network security platforms, and understand different types of cyber-attacks and exploitation attempts.
" A solid understanding of network security principles.

Education requirement:
" Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area desired

Work Experience requirement
" 5 years or more working in a security operations environment to include 1 year or more of supervisory/lead experience
" Familiarity with the defense industrial base is strongly preferred

Basic Requirements
" Must hold an active Secret clearance -a Top Secret clearance is preferred
" Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Fitness/Authorization
" Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills; good judgment required
" Good analytic and problem-solving skills
" Effective time management
" Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

Additional Skills
" All aspects of the cyber kill chain and the leading defenses for each stage
" Knowledge of the threat landscape, including Advanced Persistent Threat adversaries
" Ability to differentiate between the types of threats.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
