- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Grinder for an opening in Skaneateles, NY.
Examines work piece/product for defects Selects grade of abrasive belt , wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, condition of metal, and attaches to grinder.
Hand grinds small work pieces per work instructions or print utilizing precision hand motor skills
Hand polishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface of small work pieces
Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts
Ability to Hand Solder metal components Experience using Drill Press
Listens actively and take direction from Supervisor regarding daily work priorities
Supports the quality system including the quality manual, quality policy, and applicable procedures and work instructions
Assembles, inspects and packages product per cell work instructions
Performs IFS and traveler activities per work instruction: component traceability, label verification, quantity produced, scrap, equipment or testing verification and line clearance
Proactively participates in cleint events and creating a continuous improvement culture
Maintains 5 S work environment
cleanliness and organization
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Computer Literate 1-3 year metals manufacturing
Full-Time, first shift
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
