Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 for an opening in Austin, TX.

The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for supporting manufacturing with respect to automated and semi-automated equipment at the Austin, Texas site. The Engineer will work closely with a variety of automated material handling, assembly, liquid dispensing, and packaging systems. They will be responsible for detailed communication with leaders and the engineering team about the current state of automation related concerns.

Determine root cause of failures and problems with automation equipment. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a broad manufacturing base. Troubleshoot & support various pieces of automation, some of which include: robots, printing (Pad/Screen/Offset/InkJet), vision systems, labelers, fluid dispensing system, and capping equipment. Work with equipment vendors to solve automation problems & increase self-knowledge. Work alongside engineering to solve component related issues and determine their long term effects on the automation process. Support engineering with installation of improvements and new automation. Coach production associates and supports root cause troubleshooting. Develop / modify procedures & training guidelines as needed for automation processes. Provide input on potential improvements to existing automation systems. Track and help maintain automation data (downtime, stops, scrap, etc) to support continuous improvement process. Use Practical Process Improvement tools and Lean techniques to analyze data and improve processes

3+ years related automated equipment experience. Must have excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Electrical and mechanical background a plus, including hands on experience with PLCs, robots, motion controls and associated programming software

Accredited Associate’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline.
Equivalent experience may be considered, but only with a demonstrated record of self-development and continuous learning.

Monday-Friday, 3rd Shift 10PM to 6:30 AM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
