Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Compounding Bending Technician for an opening in Goose Creek, SC.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Programs the machine from blueprints to process plate.
o Accountable for the safety and well-being of the employees assigned to her/his team.
o Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the 5S housekeeping system within the assigned work cell(s).
o Accountable for delivering a product that meets the customer's (external or internal) specification.
o Promotes teamwork within department.
o Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for machinery when necessary.
o Working knowledge of all subordinate positions in order to fill in when needed.
o Ensures all documentation are completed accurately and are turned in on time. In the event that this task is delegated, Supervisor must ensure that the task is completed.
o Provides direction and assistance in ISO 9001 related activities.



REQUIREMENTS:
o Prefers a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
o Must have 5 years of Press Brake programming from blueprints experience in the steel fabrication or processing industry.
o Must be able to be certified for forklift and crane operations and maintain this certification annually.
o Must be able to effectively communicate with outside sources in written and verbal formats.
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs independently.
o Must be able to read blueprints.

TRAVEL
Ability to travel out of state for training as needed

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from meters, dials, calibrated scales, visual display units. Ability to receive and understand instructions via radio or phone. Ability to summarize verbal instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to follow instructions, in a logical order, given in oral, written, or diagram form. Ability to apply quality standards against product and determine if defective and degree of defect. Ability to compile gathered information. Ability to solve practical problems with common sense.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver Licenses
Forklift Certification (must pass certification upon hire and maintain annually)
Crane Certification (must pass certification upon hire and maintain annually)

EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED minimum requirement. Must have 5 years of experience operating a press brake.

SHIFT:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
